BGS expands to Estonia

BGS expands to EstoniaBGS, an international provider of ground handling and aircraft fuelling services, is delighted to announce its expansion to the Estonian market. The company is expecting to service its first customers at Tallinn Airport (IATA: TLL) already in October, 2015.

The newly established subsidiary of BGS named Baltic Ground Services EE OÜ will launch its operations by offering JET A-1 into-plane fuelling services for both domestic and international carriers. The company plans to supply approx. 20 000 tons of aviation fuel annually by 2017. The initial stage of development will require over EUR 500 000 worth investment. The BGS expansion to Tallinn airport will also create up to 30 new jobs in the area.

“Over the past several years we have significantly increased our sales in Poland. At the same time, BGS has presented numerous new products in Lithuania, including brand new IT solutions, GH personnel training and liquid ADR logistics for non-aviation customers. And we continue developing. BGS has already significantly extended its network of served airports which would eventually allow us to offer continuous support to carriers throughout Poland and the Baltic states. The ability to serve the same air carriers in all major airports within the region will allow us to present our clients with much more flexible solutions, especially when it comes to pricing,” shares Linas Geguzis, the Chairman of the Board at BGS. “Our expansion to other Baltic states starts with Tallinn airport. The next step on the agenda - an entrance to the Latvian market.”

Today, Tallinn Airport, otherwise known as the Lennart Meri Tallinn Airport, serves over 2 million passengers per year. This is the third largest airport in the Baltic states after Riga and Vilnius International airports.

Currently, BGS operates in two Lithuanian (Vilnius and Palanga) as well as four Polish airports (Warsaw, Krakow, Katowice, Radom). While supporting such carriers as Etihad Airways, Lufthansa, Turkish Airlines, Wizz Air, Air France and other, BGS serves over 2.2 million passengers and 15 000 flights per year. The company also supplies more than 200 000 tons of aviation fuel annually.
